When breeding we are always trying to improve upon the qualities of both parents. We work hard to make the best choices. Mountain Laurel uses statistical breeding to eliminate or decrease problems. Before breeding we consult with a professional genetic counselor. Pedigree analysis is used as a tool to assist breeders in realizing the genetic potential of a mating. All our dogs are sired by an authentic purebred registered Chinook. Breed coefficients done by computer are used to select from the gene pool. All breeding dogs receive routine preventative care and regular veterinary checkups. They are certified free of hip dysplasia.
