About Us

Phil and Laurel Morrissette have been carefully breeding purebred Chinooks for over twenty years. The Mountain Laurel line is from original foundation stock purebreds. We are striving to restore Chinooks to their traditional historical type. Many say our dogs are the benchmark of the breed. Our goal is to perfect our line. Our vision is to keep the Chinook from becoming a more endangered breed. We want to keep Mountain Laurel Chinooks pure, strong, healthy, and to help them survive into the 21st century and beyond.

Five female Chinooks reside with us in our home. They all earn their Canine Good citizens award certificates. Our dogs enjoy agility, obedience and different versatility classes. They also like hiking, running, camping, cuddling and hanging out with their family. We work together to help our Chinooks to be good ambassadors. Mountain Laurel is proud of their accomplishments to keep the Chinook history alive. We love our Chinooks!
